We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are in the process of relocating part of our operations to a new facility and will not be accepting any new projects at this time. We are working hard to make the transition as rapid as possible!
Deciding to coat your firearm(s) can be a big decision. You may find yourself facing several questions such as; what colors or patterns to do, who should do the work, or even which coating product is best? On this page we aim to lessen the burden of these decisions.
Much like selecting a tattoo artist or any other service provider for that matter, choosing the Coater may be the biggest choice you make. Montactical offers the perfect balance of limitless artistry and high level craftsmanship, with many years of proven experience. As lifelong artists we have unique skills that allow us to offer very special, one-of-a-kind pieces. Our Custom Art and Camouflage work is highly sought after. Firearms adoring our finishes can be found everywhere from combat zones overseas, to the private collections of celebrities. Each unique piece is accompanied by a certificate authenticating the finish. This certificate adds value to the piece, and validates our work.
There are several different products available today for coating firearms. Each have there Pros and Cons. The most popular of these coatings are Cerakote, DuraCoat, Moly Resin, and KG Gunkote. If applied properly all of these coatings will be extremely protective and durable. We are experienced with all four products, and currently stock and offer them as a service. Based on your intended results, we can recommend the most appropriate product to meet your needs. Our personal favorite is DuraCoat from Lauer Weaponry.
All of our gun coating and firearm refinishing services are conducted at our Las Vegas, Nevada, location. When your project arrives, it is logged in and secured. Once logged, it is “in line”. You are notified when it arrives, and when it is started. Each project is completely disassembled as needed. All parts to be finished are thoroughly de-greased, media blasted, cleaned, and rinsed. Ferrous metal parts are then Parkerized. When all the prep work is complete, the parts are sprayed with applicable coating until desired results are achieved, and then baked until cured. The project is then reassembled, lubricated and function checked. Upon completion, the project is packaged and returned.

What is Parkerizing?
“Parkerizing”, is a method of firearm refinishing to protect metal parts and surfaces from corrosion and increase wear resistance through a process of Phosphate etching that produces a hard matte or dull finish that is very durable, anti reflective, and has excellent oil holding properties. Parkerizing is for most “gun metals” but will not work on stainless steels or aluminum. Parkerized surfaces have a “sponge-like” structure that traps oil very well producing a corrosion resistive surface that is excellent for high humidity environments. Parkerized surfaces also make the perfect base for high end firearm finishes such as DuraCoat.

Lets Start Your Project!
Our order form is the first step on your projects journey. Please download and fill it out completely. You will need to ship this with your project. Be as detailed as possible (parts, colors, patterns, etc.) Feel free to include reference photos or other helpful media.
Our order form will not be accessible again until we reopen operations at our new location.
Rule #1, Make sure it is unloaded. Do not send ammo. We will charge a $100 irresponsibility fee for sending us ammunition. For packaging, we advise you pack small and secure. The smaller it is, the less expensive it will be to ship. The more secure, the less chance it can be damaged in transit. Its best to remove bolts and wrap them separately. Lastly, please do not use Styrofoam peanuts. Styrofoam doesn’t protect as well as many think, and is a tedious and time consuming process to clean out of firearms and parts.
What to include
